At Cidermill Farm

Once upon a time I was asked to be my friend, Pat’s, maid of honour when I still lived in Ontario. She and her husband, Dewar, and Terry and I have been friends since then and our love for each other is still the same…if not stronger despite the passage of time.

They have been into many things over the years from Pat teaching Dance at the U.of W. to Dewar still practicing Law. They have run a a company called Laing Orchards, brought schools in to sample their award winning jams/pies and to visit the petting zoo at their property. They have sponsored the local rodeo at their home, written a regular column for the local paper (D), ‘housed’ horses at their place, taught riding lessons, had family compete, and now run a ‘U-Pick’ flower business ! They are both artists as well!

So it was great to see them again and spend an afternoon with Pat.

For some reason it took us about an hour to find a place that was open but we finally ended up at the Oxley Winery for an incredible charcuterie board and of course a glass of local wine. Yum!

Then it was back to the farm when Pat took it upon herself to gift my mum and Terry’s mum with bouquets of her beautiful flowers.

The fresh flowers in their home were beautiful too!

Until next time……
