Parting Shots

What a wonderful visit we had with our son, “J”, and his family!

From tickles at our favourite breakfast place, “Hap’s”, to watching our oldest grandson see his own daddy in old albums. From “M” winning every game of “Match” to watching every single grandson do amazing drawings several times a day.

The older boys took care of their youngest brother and it was so cute when “L” would call out, “Brothers, where are you?”

We had a fun backyard dinner with my sister, Paula, and brother-in-law, Albert. They brought over a ‘cupcake cake’ that said, “Welcome Family” and “L” enjoyed digging into it in a big way…ha ha.

And the cute things our grandsons said and did!

“M” said to me, “ Nonny, you’re not old. You still have teeth.” He also said, “How come you’re so old but you have blond hair?”

I suffered with a bad back during their visit and “I” would bring a mini massager to me everytime he could and apply it to my back. He said, “Nonny, if you need a massage …all you have to do is ask.” The evening that we returned home from the musical, Alladdin, I was so thirsty. “I” heard me mention that, he went into the bathroom, returned with his ‘Dixie Cup’ filled with water and said, “Here you go, Nonny.”

All the boys talked about wishing they had a portal that would connect our houses. “Then we could live right beside each other!”

Lots of hugs this time and amazing conversations/questions about everything from ‘how things worked’ to asking us to explain the rosary and faith.

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Ser’s mum who was in from her home in Switzerland. “J” had meetings in Toronto, she was there meeting up with her friends, and they flew back here together!

Their big return journey is done but we have memories that will last forever.
