Parting Shots

One night this Christmas week we went around the table and talked about our favourite moments of the holidays.

Mine was easy (despite the fact that there were SO many great moments this year).

On Boxing Day evening our son, “D”, served us up his (delicious!) homemade pierogies before he and his family put on a play for all of us. This was their Christmas gift to us, actually, and it was incredible.

The grandsons made up the story, “J” picked out the playlist with the boys, and “D” made up a super professional program. I can’t show you photos from the show because of course…”No photos or video allowed during the performance.”

The story was very heartwarming about the search for Santa and with the help of “Papa” a large curtained backdrop was set up. “O” created and took in the tickets for the show and the two ‘big’ boys performed in it as well as “D” as ‘Santa Claus’. Some of us had tears in our eyes at the end as you can imagine. What a beautiful night!

As usual there were creative times in the Bachynski household. Papa and “O” worked on a couple of projects like a wee bed for a beloved stuffed monkey and even a painting that was soon framed and up in the house.

Nevermind monkeys….what about horses and doggies?

Back to normal over here for awhile. But we are thrilled to know that our children and grandsons are safely home.

New adventures await!
