Painting the Town

They say that if you’re a writer you should ‘write about what you know.’

Well, in the case of my parents, they ‘paint about what they witness’.

My mum and dad both really started painting quite late in life you might say. Although I do remember them taking painting lessons when we were still children and that our mum especially did paint a bit after that, it wasn’t really until after visiting us in Edmonton ( I put some paint supplies in front of them and we all painted together) that their love of art was really rekindled.

This visit I had the opportunity to look through their latest works and I noticed a similarity of theme : there were many many paintings of barns!

And you know what? When you drive around the county here you will see so many beautiful, old farms.

Most of the paintings I am about to share with you are from local scenes and some are from travels.

My mother’s watercolours are on cardstock and the are beautiful, original cards indeed. (I’m sure she would be willing to sell you a set if you were interested…..)

I only included 2 of my dad’s paintings here, larger ones and on canvas paper. His are the last two. ( He also sells his work if you like. Contact me!)

Enjoy!

Looking forward to painting with my family this visit.

Peace, friends.

Have a nice day!
