Christmas Craft Day
I found it funny that the only people who showed up from our Book Club for the Christmas craft were Lou and myself. Even the girl who invited us couldn’t attend…ha ha.
But Louise and I decided to make the most of our crafting day by starting off with a corny photo of us in the wooden cutouts above.
Creekside Garden Centre is very pretty with a sea of poinsettias and lots of gifties to be found in their sprawling gift shop area.
Our class stared at 1 pm and the instructor, Shelly, kindly gave us a table to ourselves as we were trying to distance from any possible flus or covid cases. (Ugh. Will we EVER not have to think about that?) Also, Lou kindly brought me a chair while the rest of the 7 people in the class stood the whole time.
Each of us were given a little ‘lemon cypress’ tree which we were soon directed to repot into the pretty, red containers.
The tree smells SO good. Then we gave it a little water and chose our decorations.
Next up we were instructed to take our 3 pieces of wire and place them around the tree, close to the stem.
Then we took a fourth piece of wire, looped it around one of the standing wires, and them around and around the tree itself.
We then were instructed to gently bend the mid to top of the tree over to form the ‘Whoville tree” shape, and then wrap our chosen ribbon around the tree.
Lastly, it was time to take tiny wires and attach the pretty baubles all over our trees.
Both Louise and I have decided to give these trees as gifts to dear friends this Christmas.
They are really sweet and would look nice on an end table.
Who knows? It might be for YOU!
