The Exhibition

Most of us have heard of the term “Super Mom”. Well, I happen to know one of these super moms …..who’s daughter became a “super mom” herself!

I’ve been friends with Jane from Calgary for years. I always thought of her as my own “Martha Stewart” (much to her annoyance…ha ha) because she seemed to be able to do everything well. She is knowledgeable about SO many subjects from cooking to creating and very artistic as well as being a very supportive mum and friend to many.

When her daughter, Jazz, moved to Edmonton it was such a fun reunion and although she lives at the other end of the city, she faithfully attends our church in the north/west end. We are now godparents to her two children.

Jazz is very much like her mum in that she seems to have energy and ideas for days despite many sleepless mummy nights and her busy life as a full time teacher of grade 5’s at St. Clement’s School.

The other day Jazz invited me to attend the first “exhibition” in the library at the school and boy was it well organized and fun.

Each child in the class brought their ‘artifact’ (an image on their computer or a handmade one to represent the theme) and be ready to be questioned about their ideas of how to make the world a better place. This was their United Nations ‘goal’.

The children did a great job and I had fun going around the room to each station and listening to the “U.N. movers and shakers of the future“ give their talks. I tried to compliment each one before I moved on.

Clearly the class loves their teacher ….and so do I!
