High Surf and Sunsets

Many days we received “ high surf warnings” which meant that the winds were very strong. As you can see in the video above, a sidewalk that is usually dry is being pummeled with surf!

On Thursday we headed out to Hapuna Beach for a picnic and painting day but were sandblasted (into me wearing a paper towel over my face and a beach towel over my left arm. )We had to leave when we realized we were eating sand!

On Friday morning, we woke to warnings about the dangers of a big storm brewing, but by the time we left our condo, the skies were clearing up and we ended up going out for a nice lunch which consisted of fresh wraps,

We ended up driving north to the Waimea shopping district and enjoying the walk about. When our new friends had to cancel our plans to meet up for dinner we chose to pop into the movie theatre to catch “Flight Risk”. It was a fun adventure/thriller type movie that had me yelling out in fear in parts….ha ha.

The best part of the day for me was witnessing the incredible sunset that night…..

We will miss beautiful Kona. Only 2 more days here.
