Balloon Painting Fail

I had a lot of fun teaching my grandsons how to paint with balloons this past summer.

So I thought,”How hard can it be?”. I decided to try it out for myself.

I blew up a small , yellow balloon, grabbed a small, white canvas, my palette paper, and a whole whack of paint.

This was a ‘balloon art FAIL’…ha ha ha.

I can’t believe how hard it was for me to make something look like a flower!

I kept trying and trying and the amount of paint I used ‘per flower’ was sinful.

As you can see the canvasses are overworked but I just wanted to experiment with this crazy technique.

I think the lesson here is that one shouldn’t be afraid to experiment.

And..that it is fun to try new things. AND that trying to create art is worthy in itself.

AND THAT ONE CAN ALWAYS PAINT OVER THEIR WORK !…ha ha.

Anyway, I might just stick to using brushes and enjoying my ‘realism’ method of painting.

My grandsons’ paintings were much better this past summer. (You can check them out if you go back several blogs to July2-9th sometime…)

Next time I blow up a balloon it will be for someone’s birthday…!!!
