A GRADual Walk
The other day I decided that I would head out to the old Museum as a destination point for me walk. It was a sunny Saturday and I really wanted to see if I could make it that far …and back of course.
Remembering that there were benches and picnic tables near Government House , I knew I could take a wee rest when I got there.
But what I was surprised to see was that there were many people already there and most of them had on very sparkly dresses. Was it a wedding? Nope. It was a grad gathering….and I just realized I don’t even know what school it was for.
When I saw these teenage girls I must admit I was a tiny bit taken aback. Was this the Hollywood Oscars? Were these girls 35? Omigosh, some of the dresses were skin tight and some were SO low cut. Yowzers!
But the colours and styles were incredibly beautiful and I just smiled to myself because looking back on my own grad and proms, I certainly did not have dresses as glamorous as that and I was not as put together by a long shot! Ha ha.
All the boys that I saw looked really classy and there was even a cowboy in the mix! I enjoyed walking around the grounds taking photos of the “Futuristic Fountain” , a couple in a hammock, and the occasional dog walking couple too.
I also took some photos of people taking photos.
It really was the ‘picture perfect’ day so the families were lucky. We have a new Museum downtown now so unfortunately, the lovely building on this property sits empty as far as I know. The property is a great place for a picnic or to get down to the river valley for a walk as well.
I was proud of myself for making it all the way over to the museum…a long walk for me. But as I said, a gorgeous day to walk…..or have a Grad.
I’ll leave you with a few ‘glamour shots’ of myself at Grad and at a couple of my proms….ha ha ha….slightly more conservative…..
Happy CANADA DAY!!!!!!
