Happy 7th, ‘O’ !

O woke up to a big surprise the morning he turned seven…..a brand new bike with gears!

We all make a big deal out of birthdays in our family.

The birthday boy requested that we spend the morning at the Stanley Park Aquarium so ‘Nonny and Papa’ were on call for that adventure. (Dad was working and Mummy needed to care for poor baby Remi who is struggling with a bad cold.)

It was raining yet again when we drove over but luckily the crowds were not too bad because we arrived right when it opened.

The Vancouver Aquarium is beautifully laid out and the lighting makes everything beautiful behind all the glass. Lots of room for the many thousands of varieties of fish to swim. My favourite this day were the starfish and jellyfish.

It’s nice to be with our grandsons because they are well behaved and funny too. Always lots of jokes and physical humour going on. They ask a lot of good questions and retain a lot of the answers too.

We ended the morning with giant pretzels and mustard to dip them in much to everyone’s delight!

That evening, we returned to their home to have a wonderful, homemade Mac n’ Cheese dinner and chocolate cake prepared by Darren. O seemed to like our gifts for him ( a special compass, a ‘choose your own adventure’ pirate story, and some socks) and we just enjoyed hanging out with everyone. It wasn’t long though, before it was time for Papa to head out with Nonny. He was passing out on the couch! We are not used to the pace but we also love being with everyone.

Happy birthday, O!
