Exploring Victoria

We spoiled ourselves in Victoria by going for the classic “High Tea” experience.

I was very surprised to see the tea menu was also a box that showed what the different tea leaves looked like. We were also given a set of timers to get our tea steeped just right.

Did you know that the term “High Tea” does not refer to it being ‘hoity toity’ but to the hour in the day it is usually served? Our server told us that the working class people would have their tea after work therefore later in the day. This was ‘high tea’. The gentry were people of leisure so they enjoyed early morning tea or…”Low Tea”. I did not know that!

So we ‘working class’ folk enjoyed our high tea with a very high price tag….ha ha.

At the table near us (with all the teapots above) I asked if I could take a photo of 2 of their children as they were so dressed up and gorgeous.

And speaking of gorgeous, I also asked to take a photo of a shopkeeper named Kumba.

After tea we moved the car and went for a very long walk around town. I can’t believe I was able to walk that far but with several breaks I did the whole loop. Yay!

It was crisp and cool out but the many sightings of early flowers warmed my heart!

Unfortunately, we had to put up with VERY loud music provided by the ‘freedom’ protesters at the Legislature. Ugh. Where do our freedoms to NOT agree with them come into place?

As the sun began to slip down below the horizon we knew our touring of Victoria was done for the day, so back to Sidney we drove to enjoy a quiet night of leftovers while we watched the Oscar nominated movie, “The Power Of The Dog” on Netflix. Beautiful cinematography but man, was it sloooooow.

Wishing you adventures and enjoyable discoveries tomorrow. God Bless…
