Father’s Day
Father’s Day.
What does it mean to you?
I am filled with thanksgiving when I think of it…..when I think of our fathers.
I thank my heavenly Father for all the fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, and those who became our fathers with their love, care, and wisdom of which they passed on.
I pray for those who are soon to be fathers that they too will be filled with wisdom in how to parent in this often fatherless world. I pray for healing for those who have been abused by their fathers….for the victims and for the sick to be healed ,for their hearts to change, and God have mercy on their souls.
And most recently, I pray for the fathers who have died, who have gone before us but left us with a legacy of love.
My husband’s Dad, Edward Bachynski, just passed on May 28th, 2024 and it is really only starting to hit me emotionally now. I can’t believe I won’t meet up with him next time we’re in South Western Ontario. It all seemed to end so fast.
But I also thank my Father in heaven for the chance to see him, my grandfathers,my ‘Papa”, and the other wonderful fathers in generations past that I hope to meet again like my uncles Gene, Neil, Raine, and my great uncle George from England.
Thank you, Lord for the priestly fathers who lead their flocks with goodness and wisdom. Take care of them.
For all of our loving fathers who have gone before us …grant them access to eternity.
And lastly, I thank God for my husband and sons who are good good fathers.
Amen.
