Kona
Despite enduring a 19 hour day of travel (and my feet so cold on the plane that I wrapped them up in Terry’s coat sleeves…ha ha) we arrived safely and ….with ALL of our luggage!
It felt wonderful to wake up in Hawaii despite the fact that we had very little sleep the night before.
Soon it was off to 9 am mass at our favourite church, St. Michael’s and then we drove over to our son, “J’s” rental house to meet up with the family there for brunch!
What a special time to be with family here in Kona and what a delicious breakfast! After a few games with our grandsons post brunch we all headed over to our VRBO for a tour and for the fam to swim in our pool. We headed out to do our groceries and soon after it was time for all of us to go out for dinner at a lovely restaurant called Merriman’s -about an hour drive north.
The food was excellent “farm to table” fare and we so enjoyed being treated to it and our time drawing with our 3 wee ones too.
The next day was quiet for me as I had to ice my leg a lot but Terry enjoyed a round of golf and our son’s family headed out on a volcano adventure.
To be continued…..
