Universal Studios

My sister, Pamela, decided to save up and attend our daughter’s wedding!

But she did say that if she was going to fly all the way across Canada and then into the States she wanted to get to the Harry Potter exhibit at Universal Studios. Terry and I decided to keep her company and go for the day.

After a healthy breakfast in our hotel, we headed out of Long Beach to Hollywood! It was perfect weather, not too hot/not too cold, and it took us about 45 minutes to pick up Pam from her friend’s house . Then, the traffic became insane and it took us about 2 hours to get to Universal Studios.

Finally arriving at Universal and out of the bumper to bumper traffic felt GREAT ! The powers that be had the whole place decked out for Christmas already but it looked beautiful for sure.

It had been Pam’s dream to visit the Hogwarts Theme Park for quite some time so it was really fun for me to watch how excited she was over the whole experience there. Terry decided to treat us to “skip the line” passes which was a major blessing for me especially. We all had a blast at the Harry Potter virtual ride through the castle, Quidditch game, and escaping the “Dementors“.

Soon it was time to stop for lunch so we stayed in the Hogwarts grounds and all of us chose surprisingly tasty food. What was super surprising though was that this couple came up to us and said,”This might sound crazy but by any chance are you Lana and Emily’s parents?”

And WE recognized them from photos as really great friends of Jeff and Lana’s who are going to be at the wedding too! We met Sarah and Kevin’s 3 gorgeous little boys as well and it was such a ‘small world’ moment.

We ended our Hogwarts adventure by doing a bit of shopping at the “Billy Bott’s” candy shoppe where Pam found a few treats for presents.

To be continued…….
