The Play’s The Thing
For an early birthday present we treated the boys to breakfast at “Nellie’s” and a play based on “Billy Goat’s Gruff”.
Lots of energy with these boys and I love how I am oblivious to what is going on behind me in that photo…ha ha,.
Such good little guys though and we enjoyed a nice breakfast and lots of jokes and stories.
We next headed over to Granville Island to find parking for the children’s theatre production of ‘Gruff’.
All Covid protocols were in place so it still felt pretty safe. It is wonderful to watch a play with children. Their innocence is so compelling and their questions and comments are so interesting.
There were a lot of lessons in this stage production including …. learning to share, kindness is important, the importance of friends, among many other themes.
The play had many songs and O cracked me up when he said that the first song was never ending and filled him with boredom. ha ha ha . The musical portions were often and they weren’t all winners. But the cast was very talented and we all enjoyed the story, acting, and messages.
We wanted to spend a bit more time together on this rainy day so we found a Tim Horton’s and treated the boys to doughnuts and chocolate milks. They treated us to tons of love, and smiles, and feelings of gratefulness.
