The Biodiversity Museum
Our son, D, asked us to join him and his oldest boys for a walk around UBC campus with the intention of also checking out the Biodiversity Museum.
We were gifted with blue skies and cool winds …..all lovely after several days of rain.
The boys seemed like they were thrilled to have the freedom to run and jump and explore as we slowly made our way south to the museum building.
The entranceway is immediately intriguing as it sports a full size blue whale skeleton that hangs from the ceiling. WOW!
The museum itself would actually take you over a week of constant scrutiny just to see all of the exhibits. The boys had fun putting ‘bones’ into the shape of a blue whale fin and they enjoyed some one on one time with some instructors who taught them many things about birds and insects. It is a well thought out place and one I would like to come back to and maybe will with another grandson….?
Seeing flowers in bloom just lifts my heart ….especially knowing that I usually don’t see flowers at home until June.
The boys had a snack when we returned to the sunny enclosure and we also stopped at “The Nest” building so they could enjoy some freshly baked cookies.
It was a nice way to spend a few hours on a Saturday and that evening we would be getting together with the whole family!
To be continued…….
