DON’T WORRY
I really love this wisdom from our National Treasure :

I know I’m not alone.
That is the biggest take away for me through all of this madness. I am with ALL OF YOU.
I am part of a massive collective, a wave, a community, a vast and powerful throng of people who have quite suddenly been thrown into what feels like a very deep, dark hole. It doesn’t have to be that way. How many times in your life have you, or someone you know-, uttered the words, “Something’s gotta give”….
Well, something gave and here we are.
The most important thing we can all do for our mental health, and the mental health of the people we care about, is to stop ourselves from living in the world of “WHAT IF’S”. We cannot thrust ourselves into an unknown future. It is an impossible and utterly pointless task.
BE WHERE YOU ARE.
If you don’t have to, don’t watch the news. There’s nothing to glean from repetitive information and endless images that are upsetting and counter intuitive to your wellness. Give your brain a break. What you NEED to know, about changing situations, changing rules and regulations WILL find you. Your friends will tell you, trust me, they will. Hours of speculation can be exhausting. It’s simply not good for the soul.
Whenever I find myself drifting into that place of heavy uncertainty, I call a friend, I send a text, I tell someone how I’m feeling, and I’m telling you, I find if really difficult to do. It’s not easy for me to ask for help or to express myself in a vulnerable way, contrary to what you might think of me. It’s hard. But I do it, because not only do I want to survive all of this, I want to thrive. I don’t want to live a ‘half life’. I don’t want to keep myself in a pattern of “When my real life starts again…..”
This is our real lives now. It’s not a drill or a practice run, it’s an astounding, articulate reality where we can all find a great deal of growth and wisdom. Things that may have taken us twenty years to realize, we’re uncovering in weeks. WE are looking into ourselves in ways never before thought imaginable. This is an opportunity to be your best self. This is an opportunity to learn about who you are.
Over coming obstacles is what human beings do.
We’ve over come things for thousands and thousands of years. Our generation is not exempt. This is our time to rise and conquer and shift and adapt and alter our paths. Every civilization does exactly this. They’re faced with insurmountable challenges, and they, WE- persist and triumph over them.
Stay in the day.
Don’t live in a place that doesn’t exist.
The future is right now.
We are going to be fine.
Don’t wait for things to go back to normal.
Normal wasn’t working.
