Happy birthday!

Happy birthday! 〰️
I don’t want to think about how many pounds I’ve gained by eating at least 6 birthday cakes…ha ha.
But there have been that many birthdays(and a wedding anniversary!) to celebrate out here in Vancouver and it has been a joyful time.
Our M turned 5 and wanted to try out “Clip n’ Climb” for his special day.
Clip ‘n Climb is an incredible place for children and adults who are interested in climbing!
The building seemed like it was ‘in the middle of nowhere’ type of thing but it was easy to spot once you made the corner….. a giant warehouse complex in wonderful multi-colours.
Once we entered in, there were also beautiful colours and designs on all of the climbing structures.
Birthday boy, M, and his brother, O, were well on the way in their upward climbs and it all seemed very safe.
We took our own children to an experience like this when they were young but they had to be tethered to a ‘spotter’ who held the rope line while their sibling climbed.
In this place there is one supervisor who is there to help but all the climbers have a safety rope attached to them at all times so they don’t need another person to assist them in their quest to reach the top.
They have SO many options of brightly coloured climbing structures and so many different hand and foot holds. The boys just naturally love climbing so they really took to the whole experience quite well and quickly.
Otto just made the height restriction to climb the tallest pole and then jumped off to try and grab the giant, hanging cushion. He did it!
It was a happy birthday for M with a lovely dinner that night at home and a fun, homemade cake by daddy that night as well.
For Myro’s 7th birthday this year he chose to invite family and a few friends to go 10 pin (!) bowling.
I haven’t bowled in years and didn’t think I’d be able to do it but you know, I hung in there and had a ton of fun.
And a lady who worked at “Rev’s” did an act of kindness for me. She saw that I was struggling to get up from the bowling swivel chairs and she brought me a chair with arms. (That is the secret to me being able to get up from a chair at this point.) SO kind.
The little ones had a ton of fun too and even 2 year old L couldn’t stop bowling!
Jare and Ser provided a nice snack that included soft drinks, nachos, and pizza too!
Next up: Myro invited us back to their new home for some pinata fun.
It was a full day of celebration and M seemed very happy with it. (Glad he liked his new telescope from us!)
This was the conclusion of the Western family birthdays and before you know it …..it will be time to fly to Ontario and a whole ‘nother round of birthdays with our Eastern families. (No WONDER I can’t lose weight! ha ha ha)
Happy birthday , M and M!
