Good Friday

Years ago the word “good” was sometimes used to mean “holy”.

Years ago Jesus was publicly humiliated and crucified on a cross.

Christians believe that Jesus died on Good Friday but returned on Easter Sunday to walk among his friends once again, not as a spirit, but as a man . St. Thomas could attest to this. He refused to believe until he put his fingers in Jesus’ wounds. Once Thomas had done this he proclaimed, “My Lord and my God!”

When Jesus broke the bonds of death for us and opened the gates of Heaven for us that friday changed from a very sorrowful, black friday to a very holy friday.

A VERY good friday.

Let us think about this today as we prepare for the joy of Easter.

May peace be with you and your families.
