Slow Down You’re Movin’ Too Fast….
This quote really speaks to me.
We go and go and go, pounding the shore trying to make a difference . But are already making a difference in just being.
We’re here and we are already enough. Let’s not kill ourselves trying to do all that we think other people might need us to do.
Sometimes what’s best for us is to take that break, take that nap at home instead of doing more chores, or to just stop for a minute and breathe.
William S. Burroughs said, “ Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answers.”
We enjoyed a fun but busy 5 weeks in Vancouver. There wasn’t a lot of ‘down’ time but we ‘protected’ one day a week for ourselves. And you know what? We needed it!
Just like the weekend or Sundays for us, these days or day of rest is very much needed to recharge and get ready for the week ahead.
And I know we can feel guilty sitting down to watch a golf tournament or to have a cup of tea in the middle of the day but our bodies need us to take the time to rest once in awhile.
We like to talk about how it seems like no one in the workforce these days can ever have their weeknights or weekends free because people can be reached at any time of the day or night…because of cell phones.
We need to set boundaries and put our families and our own health first!
Maybe this week we could take a moment to just stop. There are a lot of things going on in the world to bring us the unwanted gift of anxiety. But take a walk, find a bench, and watch the world go by. Pray. Breath.
Peace, friends.
