Marla & Me at High Tea
The cold spell was just starting to break when I drove across town to meet my buddy, Marla, for High Tea at the Old Beverly Café.
Beverly is an older part of Edmonton that has lots of character….and characters I guess you could say. We’d fit right in! Ha ha.
I’d been to the restaurant once before with my sister, Paula, but it wasn’t till I started trying to find “High Tea” in my own city that I found it was served there with reservations to book. I quickly booked a spot for us for our Christmas lunch and gift exchange and I’m not sorry I did.
I was surprised just how many places do serve High Tea in Edmonton but I was looking for a place with character….and ….they had to serve scones as part of it…(my favourite).
So that is how I found out about the Café and it was wonderful. There were tons of antiques and fun decor everywhere ….including the ceiling!
The lunch was delicious too.
Marla likes to have fun with lots of things to open as she tells me she mostly receives gift cards. We were both happy with our thoughtful presents…well….that is until I read the name of one of them out loud ….Yikes! Ha ha. (see above)
It may make us feel a bit anxious to take time to be with a friend when there is always so much to do at Christmas but don’t let that stop you. The gift of friendship can last a lifetime!
