Share The Joy

Well, I never could have guessed that my small contribution to this year’s Festival of Trees would see my two donated paintings used in so many ways.

I really got a kick out of seeing my artwork all over the city of Edmonton and online in many different forms.

I was thrilled to be chosen as “the” artist for the Festival and I loved that they loved the paintings.

The Festival of Trees Edmonton has raised over $22 million for critically important causes at the University of Alberta Hospital site. Although this year, because of the pandemic, they had to have their event online and a few events outside (like Santa!), they have attracted up to 35,000 visitors annually. Over 2,000 volunteers are needed to make the event a success and it has always been a great success.

I really missed attending my annual luncheon and fashion show with dear friends. The tickets also go to helping the cause ( this year End Stage Kidney Disease) and we get a fine meal and fun show.

One year, Terry was talked into being one of the models at the Fashion Show. They picked out all of his outfits, which I think were from Simons that year and Terry had fun ‘hamming it up’ on stage and I got a little embarrassed when he focussed a bit too much attention on me in the audience…ha ha ha.

At the writing of this blog the original paintings are in an online auction. I hope they make some more money for the End Stage Kidney Disease cause this year. ( I think the final tally was $2,050 total for all the paintings. )

Feeling very blessed that I was chosen for this.

Peace, friends.

Christmas is almost here and it’s time to share the joy.
