Pysanky Time Once Again
It was such a blessing to get the news that the dyes were set up early at the Marian Centre.
We are going to visit our children soon in Vancouver so I didn’t think I would even have a chance to work on the Ukrainian eggs before Easter.
So, instead of painting (Terry still painted. The pysanky are NOT his thing.) I designed an egg. Well, actually I saw someone did a version of it online so I tried to figure out how to emulate it.
I drew the 4 sunflowers but they are not evenly spaced. Ugh.
And my hand was a bit shaky with trying to remember how to draw with the wax kitska and my “straight” lines show this.
I dyed the egg yellow, then orange ,washed off the orange that wasn’t covered in wax, then dyed it blue, green, then finally black.
Removing the wax is like opening a present!
