Throwback Thursday

The other day I had one of those ‘6 degrees of separation’ moments.

I think it started off that I purchased a book from Will Toffan for Terry called “Watching the Devil Dance”. Terry asked me how I even found this book and author(because I had had it personally inscribed to him) . I told him that his wife ,Laura, is connected with me on Facebook and that we used to all be in Finian’s Rainbow together.

Years ago ,when I was just in my teens I joined the Windsor Light Opera cast of their Christmas Carol type show called “The Stingiest Man in Town”. I got a small lead role in my very first show ( Martha, the daughter of Mr. Cratchit) and a solo too!

I had so much fun in that show that I auditioned for the next one too which was Finian’s Rainbow and that show introduced me to my future husband!

Anyway, I reminded Terry that Laura (Papp)was a dancer in Finian’s with us and he was pretty adamant that she wasn’t…ha ha.

So this began a bit of a quest to find out the truth (who would win this argument? ha ha) and I went the easy route : I contacted Laura on Facebook and asked her!

She was indeed a dancer in the show with us and she was also a font of information about cast members, funny show anecdotes, stories about going to high school with Terry ( I didn’t know that!) and so much more.

I think it was only a day later that I happened to be chatting with my best friends and Mary said that she was going through some old papers and found her original program from Finian’s Rainbow. WHAT?

One of those best friends was IN Finian’s Rainbow with me as well.

Six degrees of separation for sure and a whole lot of fun memories. And a great husband out of the deal too!
