A Pie For My Parents

After the busy but beautiful weekend with my sisters it was nice to have some quiet time upon our return.

I worked on my blogs and photos and enjoyed hanging around with my parents. It was fun to meet up with Paula’s son, Trevor too. They went off for a nice dinner together before they leave to go see the new baby for her daughter, Brittany, in Toronto.

The next day I decided to purchase some ingredients for one of my homemade apple pies.

It was nice to get the shopping and pie done before lunch and it worked out well because my brother, John, invited Paula and I out for lunch at the Thompson House.

We had a really nice visit with John, exchanged news, and were treated to the meal by “J.D.” . Thanks, John.

Next up : a special weekend away with my closest friends with whom I “Zoom” every week since Covid. It feels unreal to know we will finally see each other in person again.

Lots of sad stuff in the news these days…. mass shootings, a tornado in Gaylord, Michegan, and yet another disease making its first appearance : the “Monkey Pox”. Makes me want to make the most of this time near those I love.

Peace, friends.
