SPIRITLINE FRONT PORCH CONCERT 2020
WELL, I WOULD SAY THAT OUR FIRST ‘FRONT PORCH CONCERT’ WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
WE HAD ABOUT 40 PEOPLE SHOW UP FOR THE LABOUR DAY SHOW AND WE MET SO MANY OF OUR NEW NEIGHBOURS AND FINALLY GOT TO RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS TOO.
TERRY MADE FLAGS OUT OF HANGERS AND RED DUCT TAPE AND PLACED THEM AROUND THE YARD TO MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO FIND A PLACE TO SOCIALLY DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM OTHERS AND ALL THE GUESTS WORE MASKS.
WE HAD A JAR IN PLACE SO THAT IF ANYONE WANTED TO DONATE WE WOULD GIVE THE MONEY TO OUR FAVOURITE CAUSE : THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS OF EDMONTON. AND THEY DID!
HE ALSO CREATED A WONDERFUL STAGE FOR US OUT OF PLYWOOD THAT HE PLACED ON OUR PORCH AND HE COVERED IT WITH DARK MATERIAL SO IT LOOKED QUITE PROFESSIONAL! SO OUR SIGHT LINES WERE REALLY GOOD FOR ALL. WE HAD NEIGHBOURS THAT SET UP THEIR OWN CHAIRS IN AN EMPTY LOT BESIDE US , IN THE ALLEY, AND DOWN THE STREET ON THE OTHER SIDE TOO SO EVERYONE COULD SEE AS WELL AS HEAR US.
I AM SO HAPPY WE WERE ABLE TO SHARE OUR NEW SONGS AND AS ONE OF OUR GUESTS SAID, ‘WHAT A NICE WAY TO CELEBRATE THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER’.
I THINK WE WILL DO THIS NEXT YEAR TOO. IF COVID CONTINUES NEXT SUMMER I CAN SEE US DOING A REGULAR SERIES OF CONCERTS WITH GUEST ARTISTS AS WELL.
HAPPY LABOUR DAY WEEKEND!
