FOUR !

I used to be a pretty good golfer.

At least I enjoyed it and I remember when I received a brand new (pink!) golf bag and clubs for Christmas one year.

Well, the other day our daughter, Emma, asked if she and her boyfriend, Geoff, could go golfing with us so we booked an evening for it and had a great time.

Terry has a membership at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club and it is a world class course and just gorgeous all season long.

Unfortunately, my body doesn’t let me golf at the moment but I was so happy to hang out with the gang that night.

I drove the cart for Emily and Terry and Geoff rode together.

I was so proud of Em and Geoff (for many reasons!) because although they are not the type of folks who own appropriate golf clothes, they took it upon themselves to hit up Value Village and they showed up wearing the perfect outfits! (Did you know that private clubs won’t let you on unless you have the proper golf attire?)

Emily hasn’t golfed since she was a kid and Geoff hasn’t had much experience either but they were keen to play and boy, did they ever do well!

Terry and I gave just a few spur of the moment tips as we rounded each hole and Emily used my set of clubs and Geoff used a set we keep for visiting family members. They responded to the ‘tips’ with grace and improvements too.

We had chocolate chip cookie snacks and Em had a beer! I loved chatting with Emily during the ride too.

The flowers look so pretty all around the course and the waning light made for some pretty shadows for photos but hard times for finding your golf ball. ha ha.

It got a wee bit chilly when you weren’t golfing so I had to improvise towards the end of the game….. ha ha
