Long Lake

We try to protect our Tuesdays for each other. Thursdays we paint. The other weekdays are golfing days or work days or whatever T and I want/need to do.

On one of the very last warm(ish) days of October we decided to take a road trip to a National Park called Long Lake and boy, was it lovely there.

In fact, even on the WAY there we saw so many beautiful sights!

Our new audiobook is by Bob Mortimer whom we love on the hilarious show “Would I Lie To You?”. It’s some sort of a murder mystery book(I forget the name) but lots of fun so far.

For us the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination so we take our time and if we want a photo we pull over.

We saw lots of animals on our journey but my favourite were the elk. There was a large of group of them, one with a giant rack and I think among them all was a white deer! How special!

Just before we arrived at our destination, which is about an hour and a half away, we pulled over to take photos of a pretty Catholic church and some brilliant fall colours in front of a ‘glamping’ place…

We arrived at Long Lake in time for a late lunch/ barbequed hotdogs.. and that was perfect because that morning we had gone to mass and then Hap’s for breakfast.

We only went to the first turn off for the park but after lunch we realized that the park was way bigger than we thought and next time we’d have to sit at the beach by the lake.

We certainly chose the perfect day for it. Cool in the shade but very hot in the sun! The colour was in its full glory!

If you ever have a chance to check out Long Lake you might want to do it in the Autumn. Beautiful!
