Hug Time

Being tough.jpg

I’m not feeling very ‘tough’ right now. How about you?

As this pandemic roars on I think we are all getting sick of the restrictions.

We’re getting tired of angry people….and that is making us…well…. angry!

I was in my Zoom book club meeting the other night and after our book discussion concluded ( good read : Son of a Trickster ) we got into speaking about the levels of anxiety that are hovering around us as Covid continues to hurt us in so many ways.

We might not even ‘see’ the anxiety that we have but it will come out in various ways …like anger, tears, and depression among other things.

We are tired of being apart from those we love. We’re tired of masks. We’re tired of all the restrictions and some of us are angry that those of us who got vaccinated for the good of all are now not allowed to even have life saving surgeries because the ICU’s are being saved for all the very ill UNvaccinated . Ugh.

It’s frustrating and as the months…(YEARS!) go by it gets so tiring. Will it ever end? Is this our “new normal”?

I am blessed that I am near my beloved extended family right now. But it’s still stressful that we can’t do what we used to do….go to church together…SING at church together, go to restaurants or movies without masks or worry. It was scary to take the plane flight here as airplanes can be such incubators for germs.

We are a divided people right now…in many ways it’s probably mainly from the internet! If someone happens to go down the ‘rabbit hole’ of misinformation then the alga-rhythms will follow that trajectory and continue to feed their fears.

We need to look at the numbers! 100 percent of the people who are in the ICU in Edmonton who are struggling for their lives due to Covid are the unvaxxed. Let’s stop being selfish or fearful or whatever else is keeping us from getting ‘the jab’ and do it if not for ourselves than for our families. Do it for our friends, our neighbours, OUR WORLD! Herd immunity can actually stop this thing. We’ve gotten rid of disease this way before. History proves this.

I want to be able to hug again and know that I don’t have to keep asking the question,”Are you doubly vaxxed?”

Peace be with you.
