Spring Visits in Edmonton

Friends are a blessing. I feel so honoured and happy when we make the time to have a wee visit with someone we love.

I had fun having a lunch with my dear friend, “Shorty” at The Art of Cake one day. She is a firecracker and a wonderful person. Pat knitted a gorgeous scarf for an early birthday present for me…and I love it…and her.

I also got together with my wonderful friend, Tim, before I left for Ontario. We went to a place called “Bosco Bakery” and it and the conversation were really nice. Tim treated me to lunch as an early birthday present…and I even had a visit with his sister one day!

Our former neighbourhood friends (who live all over the place now….even a couple who moved to Mexico!) get together quite regularly and play poker. We joined them one night and I was shocked (and they probably were too…ha ha) that I won that night! There was about $140. in the pot so I’m pretty rich now. ;)

Finally, it WAS my actual birthday and I had a wonderful day with friends and family. My sister, Pamela and husband, Dave were with us (leading up to Terry’s musical in Rosebud) so I had the pleasure of hanging out with her for the day while Terry was due to golf with Dave. We had pedicures and lunch, went shopping at ‘Dot’s’, and then out for dinner with Terry and Albert (our sister, Paula, was already in Windsor where I we were soon to follow for our Spring visit there….) at Yanni’s greek restaurant on Whyte.

Pam and I were so surprised when we arrived for dinner that there were two bouquets of flowers waiting for us…..from my daughter, Emily!

I know that there are terrible things going on in the world….war, strife, hunger, disasters, and so much more. But there is also a lot of love out in our world.

Making time for friends and family can uplift the soul and it certainly uplifts mine.

Thank you, dear friends, for making me feel so loved.
