A Very Special Reunion
Terry’s dad is ninety years old and he looks great!
Oh, how wonderful it felt to finally, finally walk into the arms of our parents after two years apart.
Terry’s mum, Joan, looked beautiful but very frail as she has been battling some severe health issues for months. We had unexpected company drop by (my neice, Tara, her children, and husband, George) and we had a lovely, family dinner with Joan, Ed, and Terry’s 3 sisters and his brother in law, Mark. The Italian food was from Koolini’s and we had a delicious lemon cake as well to celebrate a man of whom we are all proud to know.
Joan surprised Ed with a beautiful “Citizen” watch (with a ‘face’ that he could read..ha ha) and we all sat around together for hours catching up and making each other laugh with memories recounted or silly jokes. SO good to be with family here in Ontario, Canada.
My own reunion with my parents was just as wonderful and I couldn’t help shedding a few tears of joy.
Dad showed us some of his latest paintings (the one above is an acrylic on canvas paper of “Willistead Manor” in Windsor.) We also had unexpected guests : my uncle David and aunt Heather. What a great surprise for all of us!
We took our first plane flight in two years to be close to our parents now that the borders have opened between provinces and I am now looking forward to meeting up with my sisters and brother. Can’t wait!
