Sketchin’

Drawing. Such a simple way to produce art.

We decided that this year we wouldn’t bring all of our paints , brushes and pads but simply our pencils and one small sketchbook each.

It felt good to sit in the shade and try and quickly capture an image before us.

I honestly don’t think mine are very good. But, I had fun.

At least once a week we would find a beach in which to sit and capture an image or two.

We brought a set of coloured pencils and a small, metal box of graphite pencils. Most artists like to sketch to get ideas for their future paintings. I just prefer to start painting when I’m in the studio. But it was a cool exercize.

You might want to try it yourself sometime. It is a great way to really notice everything around you.
