Chuck e Cheese
I remember taking our children to ‘Chuck e Cheese’ when it was the ‘latest thing’ !
You walked in the large arcade/theatre/restaurant for kids and you were assaulted with sounds and sights…too LOUD.
When we joked years later that we were glad we would never have to go there again….little did we know…ha ha.
We were asked to take our son, Jared’s, children for the weekend. Jare and Ser are packing all weekend, (last weekend in the home Jared’s lived in for 15 years), to move to a new home! They bought their first house!
Anyway, because the forecast was for rain all weekend, we decided to try and find indoor things to do with these 3 brothers…from 10 am until about 4 pm.
We planned a bit of a road trip and ended up in Langley, B.C., at the Chuck e Cheese there. We ‘masked up’ and had a pretty terrible family photo taken for security reasons. (No one was allowed to leave until the ‘door man’ checked to see if our photo matched up with us. Good idea actually.)
Deja vu with the barrage of casino type sounds on steroids and lights flashing, hoards of kids, and birthday parties galore. Yikes! But , we actually found a booth away from people and decided to pay for gaming cards good for one hour of unlimited play.
Grandpa mostly stayed in the ‘big boy’ area of play while I took Leo to the toddler area. All of the children really seemed to have fun and once they found out that you could also win tickets to receive a prize at the end of the day , they wanted to try hard to win those tickets!
The children were so well behaved and lots of giggles and fun were had by all and we all enjoyed a simple pizza lunch and it was pretty good!
After prizes ( a nerf rocket and candies) we took the gang on another drive to the Rocky Point Ice Cream Parlor in New Westminster. (Thanks for the idea, Shorty!)
The day went smoothly and tomorrow we have new plans for the little ones….wish us luck! ( to be continued…..)
