HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021 !

Ralph Waldo Emerson could have been speaking about last year. Let us leave our anxieties behind. Our mistakes and ‘old nonsense’ too. For we have the proverbial clean slate ahead of us and we can move forward with hope.

The pandemic will still be here and we will still be required to keep each other safe by distancing and wearing masks. There will still be disasters, wars, and terrible attrocities….just as there always have been.

But we can choose love. We can choose to try and be the best versions of ourselves. Of course we will make new mistakes but we can ask for forgiveness and try try again.

Every single day is a gift. We have the chance to look at the beauty in our neighbourhoods and in our neighbours instead of finding fault. We can lighten up and find humour in more situations…it really does help one get through even the toughest of times.

Who can we help this year? Who can we call ? Who needs our resources or our time…or both? Let’s make a small,positive difference in our tiny worlds this year so we can look back on 2021 with pride and more good memories than bad ones.

Every day has its “hopes and invitations” so let us not waste a moment of it.
