A MEETING OF THE HEART
We stand or sit apart now and it still might not be enough to stop this lion that is Covid. Numbers in Alberta are now the worst in Canada and it’s scary. It always was but now it is even more real somehow.
And so our small businesses are once again in danger. Our children might be home from school again. Our care homes are not able to cope and many people are dying there. Happy people are getting sad. Depressed people are getting to feel a hopelessness. And the months go by.
I met a friend from out of town this morning. We used to do Aquafit together. We still keep in contact through the various social media platforms and thank goodness for those!
We met at a park near the pool where we used to swim, brought our coffees, and sat apart from each other at a snowy table. (I’m very glad I brought the seat cushions but I still froze my butt off..ha ha).
And this is how we manage. We sit apart, brave the cold, and rely on warm thoughts and stories. What would we do without our friends? Even living apart we know our spirits are drawn to each other and their love keeps us going.
I hope you are able to find ways to connect with your friends. Think positively, smile a lot, dial their number, write them, or Zoom it up. We need to understand that Covid is not going away anytime soon. And neither is our love. So love love love……and look forward to the day when that will include a real, live hug. Oh what a joyous day that will be!
God bless you!
