Off to rosebud
Boy, am I happy that we spent seven hours travelling to get a bowl of soup!
Actually , I’m not kidding...ha ha.
This past Saturday was purported to be the ‘best day of the week’ weather wise so we decided to hop in the car and go for a road trip.
Rosebud, Alberta, was our destination and we settled in for the three and a half hour drive to enjoy the scenery and listen to our Grisham audiobook.
It started out overcast which is actually a lot easier on the eyes of the driver (me) and after our rosary together we immersed ourselves in the story of a young boy accused of murdering his abusive stepfather. Typical Grisham.
The closer we got to Rosebud the more the skies turned brilliant blue and the clouds became cotton ball soft looking.
We arrived at our favourite Bed and Breakfast “The Rosebud Country Inn” and we were in time for lunch!
They served us the most delicious, homemade soups with a fresh bun. Of course we had to order slices of B.J.’s famous pie for dessert. ( Strawberry/Rhubarb for me and Bumble berry for Terry). A cup of tea rounded out the meal.
The dining room only had a couple of other tables of folks who left shortly so we had the whole place to ourselves. A masked B.J. came over , sat with us, and we had the best chat for about a half an hour or so. What a great catch up!
Now it was time to return home for the next 3 ½ hour drive back . Of course I had to stop several times to capture the photos I have included.
Our drive home seemed quick with our audiobook and the clouds became even more incredible with rain somewhere in the distance. I’m so glad we made the trip.
