Back to Hapuna
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Just one week ago we had taken our son and his family to the sandy beach at Hapuna where the boys ‘boogie boarded’ and we found a perfect spot under the trees. Now that exact same area was absolutely covered in large rocks and coral! There were no sandy places left on this part of the beach.
Nature is amazing. Luckily we walked down the beach in the other direction and were able to locate an equally beautiful place to set up for the day .
Once again it really was the most perfect place to have a picnic, go for walks, and rest for a day. But Pam and Dave said that when they were skipping stones in the water by the shore a big wave pushed some of the rocks onto their feet and ankles! Woah!
I can get just as mesmerized by staring at the ocean as I can by staring at a crackling fire in the winter. It is just so soothing and fascinating to watch and listen to. That day was no exception and I don’t think I even read the book I brought with me. Terry’s picnic lunch was great and we all found time to go for small walks and to look for shells and interesting stones/coral.
Pamela managed to get a wee sparrow to eat out of her hand and Terry managed to grab a nap!
After we packed up our things in the car at the end of the day we fit in a few games of tile rummy before we left too.
The days are going by and soon it will be time to say good-bye to our company. So glad they could make the long trip over from Ontario.
