TERRY AND I HAVE BEEN SPONSORING A BOY AND HIS FAMILY FROM AFRICA FOR YEARS NOW THROUGH ‘COMPASSION CANADA’ .

IT IS A WONDERFUL ORGANIZATION AND ALTHOUGH IT TAKES VERY LITTLE EFFORT ON OUR PART TO HELP WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT OUR SMALL PART IN ENCOURAGING AND SUPPORTING OUR ‘SON’, EMMANUEL.

WE REALLY HOPE TO MEET HIM IN PERSON SOMEDAY IF WE CAN EVER TRAVEL AGAIN BUT WE DO WRITE REGULAR LETTERS TO HIM. ‘COMPASSION’ EMPLOYS THOUSANDS OF PAID WORKERS AND VOLUNTEERS TO RUN THIS INCREDIBLE ORGANIZATION. IT IS SOMEONE’S JOB TO INTERPRET OUR LETTERS TO EMMANUEL AND THEN HE WRITES BACK ON THEIR STATIONERY . (WE DON’T EVEN HAVE TO FIND THE PAPER OR ADDRESSED ENVELOPE BECAUSE THEY SEND IT TO US!)

WHAT DOES THIS GROUP DO?

Today, two million children are discovering lives full of promise and purpose as they develop in all the different aspects of their lives—their minds, bodies and relationships—while giving them the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ at a local church.

THERE ARE SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP IN THIS WORLD. PERHAPS YOU COULD VOLUNTEER FOR AN ORGANIZATION IN YOUR AREA. CHRISTIAN OR NOT WE ARE ALL ONE FAMILY AND AT THE VERY LEAST LET US PRAY FOR EACH OTHER , SEND GOOD THOUGHTS OUT INTO THE WORLD, AND SMILE AT SOMEONE TODAY. IMAGINE THE POSITIVE RIPPLE EFFECT!

COMPASSION CANADA IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HELP BUT IT’S A GOOD WAY.
