Kaleido Festival 2022
The other evening we decided to drive over to the Kaleido Festival .
Terry and I have been asked to perform at this festival twice before and we really enjoyed our experiences there.
This time we weren’t ‘working’ so we had the pleasure of walking down the ave. to check out the many artists performing, and colourful array of people and things to do and things for sale too.
It felt like one long street party with colourful food trucks , African -American dancers, people with hoola hoops and even a giant costume made out of balloons!
Terry stood in the giant headphones and I went into a phone booth with a microphone to speak sweet nothings into his ears …ha ha. What fun for the neighbourhood and the neighbours’ good!
We bumped into our old friend, Archina, who we met when we were all selling our artistic creations at “The Works” many years ago. Archina was still selling her beautiful asian inspired clothing and she gave me a huge hug when she saw me.
The evening ended with us at The Carrot Café, another place where we have performed! We enjoyed hot drinks and the mellow sounds of the singer/songwriter ‘Kayia’ who performed while we were there. They will have many performers during the entire festival.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect so we were feeling blessed by our decision to head down to Arts On The Ave.
Maybe I’ll check into performing there again next year!
