Celebrations!

When we arrived home from Kona we had a few fun things lined up!

I was dying to see my sister, Paula, after being away for a month and we had a great, long catch up over lunch.

Then our beautiful twins turned 35 and it was time to take our daughter, Em, who lives in town out to dinner that same evening!

We met with Em and Geoff at one of our favourite Greek restaurants, Yanni’s, and had delicious foods like fried cheese, hummus and fresh pita breads, and chicken souvlaki.

There was a belly dancer roaming about for our entertainment as well.

Terry surprised all of us by making a homemade cake so we brought it with us and they served it up at the end. Yum.

I had a chance to advance my album project a bit by having James Seabrook over to discuss next steps. I’m still so excited about all these wonderful players we keep adding.

I met up with some of my favourite ‘pool ladies’ for lunch one day, and we had Paula and Albert over for my homemade stew dinner one evening.

Since Valentine’s landed on Ash Wednesday (a time of fasting to symbolize the start of our Lenten journey to Easter) we decided to go out for dinner on Shrove Tuesday . We had a lovely dinner at Café Amoré.

When I noticed a lot of people wearing red the day before Valentine’s Terry said there were probably a lot of Catholics in the restaurant that night…ha ha. Terry gave me a hilarious gift too.

Some of you know that Terry always jokes around and calls me “M’Lady”.

Well, I guess he wanted to make it official because I received a framed certificate certifying that I now own land in Scotland in the kingdom of Fife and will from now on be known as “Lady Laura Bachynski of Blairadam”. And in case you might be feeling envious…..I only own 2 square feet of land….HA HA….just enough on which they will plant a tree. Great gift with all kinds of maps, info, photos, and other fun things to look at. (in an envelope on the back of the frame.)

It feels so good to be reconnecting with friends and family since our return. And we even spent Family Day with Em and Geoff too!
