More Birdhouse Fun

The first thing “Papa” does when it’s time to create a birdhouse with our grandsons is take them out for a walk in the river valley to look for the perfect perches. It was a bit of a rainy day but that didn’t stop our intrepid explorers. Success!

Next up: designing the shape on their papers and then ….time to build!

The crew spent hours together with this project and they had so much fun! Papa let them try drills, saws, sanding, and hammers. Our “O” had a bit of a misstep with his hammering and caught a finger pretty hard but that didn’t stop him from continuing on! A true carpenter like his Papa.

“O” did a minimalist paint job so he also created a wonderful wooden boat. Although he’ll bring his boat project back to Vancouver there was no room for the big ‘houses’ so the boys knew that Nonny and Papa would be keeping them for future bird families at their home. We’re all hopeful that the new feathered families will move in soon!
