Ightham Mote

Arriving at Ightham Mote afforded me my most favourite photo I took on the whole trip (that first one on the left top.) It was another ‘picture perfect’ day to discover the Mote or ‘meeting place’.

The first thing we did was walk around the whole property outside. Great views of the property and gardens and then over to a building which housed some of the interesting photos and information about the house.

Next stop into the courtyard and then the house itself. Lots to see as always. We had a nice chat with one of the docents, Stephen, who told us about finding the famous painting (seen behind he and Terry) by Sergeant …in a pub!

After we left Ightham Mote we headed over to The George and Dragon for lunch and then to yet another castle called “Leeds”. We just loved our self guided castle touring.
