So Thankful

I’ve been feeling so grateful these days.

Covid restrictions are lifting in our province because Covid numbers are going down due to all of the vaccinations.

Yesterday was the first time in two (?) years that I was able to spend the afternoon with my own sister. (We are both doubly vaccinated.)

It was 32 degree heat(!) but we had our first lunch IN a restaurant together and of course we picked our favourite place :Earl’s. We must have chatted for about two hours and the time flew by.

Then Paula took us to Elk Island.

It was so cool to see Bison on the road as we were making our way deeper into the park. There are hundreds of these fellows in this acreage but sometimes you don’t even see one because they can be miles away. And usually they come back near the roads at dusk and it was mid-day. They are not afraid of people but I would be a little afraid to be near one if I was just walking by. Paula says that they usually have the attitude that if we don’t bother them…they won’t bother us. She goes there a lot.

I was surprised to find out that Paula had a Tile Rummy game in her car ( My fave!) so we found a secluded table by the water and enjoyed one game before we headed home. We saw many butterflies, geese, ducks, and beaver dams. But the last time Paula went to Elk Island with her husband they also saw large pelicans.

On the way home we passed through a bit of a storm. We had the ‘best of the day’ and I am so thankful.

p.s. The attached link is a cover of an Andrew Peterson song sung by Carolyn Arends called, “Don’t You Want To Thank Someone?”
