High Tea in Fort Langley
We knew that this day was to be the only sunny day of the week so we took advantage of it and planned a trip to Fort Langley.
“High Tea” was on our list of things to do and since we had almost no food in our fridge and we had only a few days left to visit in Vancouver we decided to go out for breakfast as well to the Zen Café.
Langley was indeed beautifully sunny …if a little cold ….so I’m glad I still wore my light winter coat.(I can’t believe how different the weather is from last time we were here. By now we would not be wearing coats at all! But, alas, that’s the way it was this year and it was still great to be in the flowers and see the flowering trees.)
Wendel’s Bookstore is always one of favourite places to visit so we stopped by there first to check out the books and new cards.
We found a nice sunny spot to hang out until our ‘tea time’ ..ha ha…and we were held up for a bit by the film crew and cast of “Resident Alien” the t.v. show, which was filming in Langley that day.
We’ve been to “The Little White House” before for shopping/or High Tea and so we knew to walk through the gift shop and make our way to one of the tables in the tearoom.
The lunch included a Rooibos type tea, the classic cucumber and chicken salad sandwiches, and of course scones and sweets. It was all very tasty and we were quite hungry by 2:45. Then we made our way back out to the quaint Fort Langley street and explored the town a bit.
It really was a lovely day.
