MAGIC MUSHROOMS

ALL THIS RAIN HAS HELPED SPROUT UP SOME WEE UMBRELLAS IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD.

ALTHOUGH THE AVERAGE HOMEOWNER WOULD PROBABLY BE THE FIRST TO GET RID OF THESE LITTLE FELLAS I ENJOY LOOKING AT THE BEAUTIFUL DETAIL AND INDIVIDUALITY OF EACH GROUPING I PASS AS I WALK.

WE ALL TRY TO REACH FOR THE STARS BUT SOMETIMES IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO NOTICE THE BEAUTY AT OUR FEET AND WITHIN OUR GRASP.

I DON’T LIKE TO EAT RAW MUSHROOMS BECAUSE OF THE TEXTURE BUT I LOVE THE SMELL AND TASTE OF THEM COOKED.  I USED TO DRAW THEM ALL THE TIME AS A CHILD . I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED SO MAGICAL LIKE THIS ONE :

THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR IN OUR LIVES. AND I THINK PEOPLE ARE DISCOVERING THE WONDER IN OUR FORMER ‘TAKEN FOR GRANTED’ JOYS BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC.

THE WORLD HAS FOREVER CHANGED.  AND IF SOME OF THE MOMENTS WE ENJOYED FINALLY RETURN HOW MUCH MORE WILL WE APPRECIATE ….COFFEE WITH A FRIEND IN A CAFÉ?  HUGGING OUR FAMILY WHENEVER WE WANT?  AN INDOOR CONCERT OR CRUNCHING ON POPCORN IN A MOVIE THEATRE?

FOR NOW OUR WORLD IS SMALL. MOST OF US AREN’T TRAVELLING AND WE HAVE THE TIME TO NOTICE THE BEAUTIFUL DETAILS OF LIFE ALL AROUND US NOW: IN THIS PLACE WE LIVE…. IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD, IN OUR HOMES.

LET’S OPEN OUR EYES TO THE BLESSINGS THAT COVID HAS TAUGHT US TO SEE AND APPRECIATE…LIKE THE MUSHROOM.      MAGICAL!
