“ Ways To Get There“
About 10 years! That’s probably how long I’ve been painting the artwork or taking the photos that I recently had framed for my very first solo gallery show and sale.
What an honour it has been to work with Tricia and Ralph at their Bay 1 Gallery in preparation for this incredible opportunity to give back to the community (all proceeds going to the Marian Centre) and to share my work.
Our car trunks were full full full (over 60 framed works) and we took 2 days to hang all of the art. Tricia made this postcard for me to give out and she contacted over 200 contacts like The Journal , C.K.U.A., and The Edmonton Arts Council to name a few.
Terry and I prefigured out where all the artwork would hang based on a Gallery map with dimensions that Tricia gave me. It felt good to be so organised for our hanging project.
It’s show time!
The evening gave us perfect weather, over 50 guests and a couple of sales. I loved meeting up with many dear family, friends, new friends, other artists, and old car enthusiasts.
The next day was “Meet The Artist” day. It was also sunny and lovely to spend time with more folks. As of this writing, I’ve sold $1,600 worth of art ….and I’ve almost covered my initial costs…ha ha. Hopefully I’ll make some more sales in the next three weeks.
My heart is full from this wonderful experience so far.
But I did need a nap after the second day….ha ha.
P.S. 7 paintings sold so far….
