Happy Mother’s Day!
The feeling a mother can have……
“A mother never catches up.
Every time she finishes laundry, there’s another load that magically appears.
Every time she runs the dishwasher, there are more bottles, plates, forks, knives, and sippy cups from the NEXT meal ready to be loaded.
Every time she finishes picking up toys off the floor, her kids run around and decide to have a tea party with fake food and invite ALL the stuffies—making a mess again.
Every time she breaks up a fight and sits down to reset, thinking she’s in the clear, one of her children will start sobbing and calling for her and need comfort again.
Every time she sits down to relax, one of her kids will ask for a snack, need help finding a lost toy, or SOMETHING, and she'll have to get up again.
Every time she’s about to complete the to-do list in her head more gets added: a birthday party invitation, an email she MUST answer, a class that needs rescheduling, etc.
Most days, she feels like she's scrambling to get things done, trying to keep the ship from sinking. And some days, it DOES sink, while other days she's able to stay afloat.
BUT she’s caught up on her children’s day-to-day:
how they’re feeling,
the laughter,
helping them with whatever they need,
and giving them endless love, support, and affection.
And that’s what matters most.”
