Happy New Year!

We have had only time for creating one thing over here in Edmonton : a home that our children can come back to for Christmas.  All other creative ventures were put on hold …..well sort of….I guess I did manage to create one new painting and my 3 newly illustrated books by Sandy Smith got published in time for the big day…..while we unpacked and unpacked and sorted and gave away and unpacked and then completely decorated .

Christmas was a wonder this year.  We now live back in our newly renovated home with its lovely , big covered porch and the warm atmosphere inside. We filled the rooms with our wonderful family :  our four adult children, their wives and husbands and a new boyfriend for our youngest daughter, Lana.  We also felt so full of love for our 2 new grandchildren ( 8 and 9 months old ) M and O respectively.

Every day we laughed over the sounds of someone playing the piano or a game in the dining room.  The Christmas day gifts were incredible as we had a mandate to make each gift using the talents God gave us.

There were homemade jams and hand sewn ornaments, designed tins filled with homemade sweets and a knitted sweater from our daughter, Emily, who only learned to knit ….for that gift ! We even received a published BOOK (!) from my husband, Terry, about the joys of fatherhood called ” Until My Work is Done ” . Wow !

We were blessed to eat delicious meals and share our home with friends too.

Now the children have returned to their homes and we miss them.  But we have an art studio and a music room and I look forward to creating in this beautiful home . Come for a visit !  You are welcome here.
