KLEENEX BOX KITSCH

I’m thinking of joining “Crafters Anonymous” ha ha. I think this is partly due to the fact that we are normally travelling so much and now we are grounded. In fact, we just got the difficult news that our province is in complete lockdown because our Covid numbers are through the roof. Soon we won’t have enough beds/equipment/staff to handle all the sick people. Devastating. It makes the new fact that we cannot celebrate Christmas with our families understandable but also still heartbreaking. Gosh! I miss my family SO much.

So the other day when I was in “V.V.” looking for light pink, beaded necklaces for my Christmas Tree/ teacup craft I came upon two, bare wood Kleenex box covers. Hmmmm. What could I do with THOSE? And since I am known to have a Kleenex box on virtually every surface in my home(only a slight exaggeration ,actually)I decided to purchase them as well and see what I could come up with by way of design.

The photos above are the Kitschy paintings I came up with and I think I will keep one for my living room and give one to my sister, Paula for hers. I love decorating and it actually bothers me that my Kleenex boxes aren’t ‘winter themed’ to match my living room . Problem solved. Ha ha.

I have also been asked to illustrate two new books so I hope that things will move forward with that too. I love illustrating!

There are so many ways to fill our time. So when I’m not doing spiritual/Advent prep, reading, blogging,cleaning,baking, working out, or getting ready for Christmas …I love to find artistic outlets.

O.K. Time to get back to the Christmas wrapping.
