The Pleasure of Painting
In the summer when the winds are warm and the sun kisses my shoulders, the last place I want to be is indoors.
We have SUCH a long winter and there are many months in which to paint.
But when the weather turns a corner at the beginning of Autumn , when one sees the first leaves cascade down and we feel a need to grab a sweater ….my inner voice whispers, “Time to paint”.
This past couple of weeks were like that. I really felt called to create ….or shall I say I was …”Drawn” to paint once again.
So I set up my easel in the art studio and tried a little something new. I purchased these two pieces of aluminum from an artist who was selling off some of his supplies.
It was very different to paint on a material that has almost no ‘give’ but it also seemed to give the paint a vibrancy of colour.
Here are my three newest paintings….. “Old Truck Door” , “Canmore Clouds”, and “Red Thunderbird”.
